Close your eyes and imagine, 30 years from now, how your grandchildren and great grandchildren will know what you looked like. How will they show you to the next generation? Almost impossible right? It’s impossible because there are no print images of you.
You may have a box full of usb drives, or a computer full of digital files. But no one can see them because the technology has changed, and they were never printed.
“People are taking more pictures now than ever before, billions of them, but there are no slides, no prints. Just data. Electronic dust. Years from now when they dig us up there won’t be any pictures to find, no record of who we were or how we lived.”
-from the film Kodachrome
Print is the ONLY way to truly preserve a photograph
I have hundreds of photos in photo albums. We just pulled a bunch of them out of storage because I love to have images from my life around me, they are meant to be seen.
Going through them with my daughter was so much fun, and a little emotional. We found pictures of loved ones that were taken WAY before she was born and me when I was little that she totally cracked up at! We also found images of loved ones that are no longer with us, some she knew, some she didn’t.
If those images were never printed she may not know what her nanna looked like 30 years ago, or how much she resembles me when I was little. Or what her grampa looked like that she never got to meet. And I never would have known what my Dad looked like when he was 5!
Quality prints will be seen for generations
We print all of your images on photographic paper that will last 100 years being displayed in your home. So they will be seen by your future generations. And if your images are ever stored away, they will last 200 years in cold storage.
